The Rhino and the Rivers Edge
Out of the blue, an old friend, Dave "Rhino" Rininger, called me a couple weeks ago. I was happy to hear from him and as it turns out, he lives five minutes away. A couple days later, he came by and checked out Birdland. He left his bike here and I gave it a makeover and rebuild. He came back again and jumped most of the jumps. Did I mention he hasn't really ridden in fifteen years? He looked totally comfortable on his bike and wasted no time figuring out modern jumping technique. Tonight, Rhino and I went to the "Rivers Edge" trails from yesterday's post. I named them that. I don't know what Brian and his crew call them, but they are next to a river and if you've ever seen the movie, the scene out there kind of has that teen hangout vibe, minus the dead body...
I can't get over how fun these jumps are. I'm contemplating some serious rebuilds at Birdland...
This jump rules! This is Dave. After he landed he said "I've never really done a tabletop before". What a smart ass.
Paulo, my Portugese e-buddy, has a blog on the Dig site and he did a little interview with me. You can find it here...
