Webco

Webco was one of the first BMX companies back in the stone age. Originally a motorcycle accessories company, they got into BMX at the very beginning and made some of the original monoshock and later, hardtail frames that structurally, aren't a whole lot different than the bikes we ride today.
I got my FBM Exodus last fall and no more than a week after I got it, the FBM site premiered the 09 versions and they had graphics pulled straight from the 1978 Webco catalog! I was pissed. I finally caved in and ordered some new stickers and gave my bike a Webco-style paint job and I'm back to the future...

I like the new Triumph-inspired Kalamazoo stickers that Bill from Kzoo did as well. It's all about vintage styling, I guess.

When I worked at BMX Plus, people would always ask how we took photos of the bikes where they looked like they were magically balancing. The truth is that they were really balancing. One person would hold the bike steady, then let go, while the photog got the shot. Sometimes a brand new, un-ridden test bike would hit the ground, or the photo would be snapped late and the bike would be clearly falling over. That was all pre-digital, of course, so we would take 30 photos to make sure we were getting one good one. In today's technological world, it's much easier to perform magic. The first person to identify what is really fucked up about this photo AND what kind of beer can used to be beneath the right pedal wins a Deliverance care package...
