"It's not my imagination....

....I've got a gun in my baaaaacccckkkkk......." That's the intro to the Black Flag song, Revenge. Black Flag changed my life. In 1984, my friend Mark Lewman and I were discovering punk music, buying records and testing the waters. Some of it was bad, some of it was good, but when I first heard "Depression" by Black Flag, I lost my mind. I was jumping around in my bedroom, literally bouncing off the walls. It wasn't even a Black Flag album that I was listening to, it was the soundtrack for the awesome movie The Decline of Western Civilization (I didn't see the actual movie until years later) which features a lot of other great bands as well. Tonight, I was reading some internet bullshit nonsense controversy regarding my dear friend McGoo and some drama about the brand he runs, Snafu and it made me think of what an important role Black Flag has played in my life. McGoo has played a huge role in my life as well, and BMX wouldn't have come this far without him, so shut the fuck up you stupid, ignorant "anonymous" cowards who hide behind the veil of the computer screen in your parent's suburban home.

Support of this vehemence never fails to astound me, and no words on my part can express my gratitude for your support. Thank you Scott, from the bottom of my heart.

McGoo, just cause you and I had opposing viewpoints on the merits of Olympic BMX doesn't mean I hate ya. I have no idea what the current controversey involves, but I wish you the best, and would bet you'll come out on top. Anonymous comments ain't shit.
