Surf's up

I don't want to get all surfer bro-brah on you but the planets aligned for epic conditions at Birdland tonight, bro.
I'm not going to complain about how much work the FUCKIN' KICK ASS TRAILS IN MY OWN BACKYARD are, but I've been putting every spare minute into them this week. Motivated by the upcoming "jam" (always hated that term) and a sense of urgency in regards to summer absolutely flying by. Anyway, it rained earlier in the evening and the sky was overcast with no wind. I rode every single line, new and old. Some of the new and/or reworked jumps and lines are working out. I ate shit pretty good early on and was having a hard time getting up the roll-in after it started sprinkling again, but it was just awesome.
I got the new US Ride yesterday. There is a great article by Chris Moeller entitled "Made in the USA" about just that, manufacturing BMX bikes in the USA. When I was in California two months ago, I got to hang out with Chris for the afternoon (name drop) and he happened to be working on this article at the time. He shared a lot of insight and it was interesting to hear his pre-game preparations, but nothing compares to the Mad Dog writing style: "Once the 13-butted Taiwan quality bar was raised and the Taiwanese vendors had a better understanding of the BMX biz landscape, the door was wide open for smaller brands to R.O.C. and roll." That is just one genius pull-quote from a great piece.

I hate to be a dick, but it's "nauseated" in this context; not "nauseous." "Nauseous" implies that you are sickening to others. "Nauseated" means you are sickened by someone or something.

Pet peeve. Carry on...
