Landmark events

For as much work as I've done on Birdland in the last couple of weeks, the amount of riding has been extremely low. It's been super frustrating, watching our hard work melt away from the rain. About the only riding I did this week was to test the new, downhill version of the snake run. It is super fun. I've rebuilt the first big jump twice in the past week.
The first rebuild was washed out a day later. The new backside just split in half and slid down. Fortunately, the face remained fairly well intact and and after rebuild two I feel like the whole thing is better (and it's definitely bigger). Some of the new lines are finally running and tonight, out there by myself, headphones on and with the gusting wind finally having died down, I got some real deal runs in. The first jump feels great. It's bigger and both the take-off and landing are steeper. The "come-back" section is so fun and it's great to be able to make a lap and cruise right up to the roll-in. I did hit this a couple times two weeks ago, but it was rough. The mini-grizzlies are under-going some more work, but they should be good after a little more White Lotus manipulation. So, without going into a bunch of boring details about where the new lines go and how they work, I will simply state that completing laps, all the way back to the roll-in, utilizing both the snake run and the original line, were landmark events and felt great. If you were hiding out in the pine trees watching me tonight, you might have seen a few Rocky-style fist thrusts into the air. Enjoying the fruits of my labor, if you will...

Those trails looks soo good now! That bottom picture really puts into perspective how much work you have done. I would love it to make it to the birland 500 or whatever its called this year.
